Designed by Prof. Zhu Yimin from the Department of Architecture of South China University of Technology, Yiyuan (Chigang) Nursing Home has a pleasant environment with nearly 10,000 square meters of four-seasons-themed gardens and a roof garden in a modern and lively style. The courtyard is lush with ancient trees and equipped with gardens and public leisure spaces, providing an overall elegant and secluded space in the midst of the bustling city.
Four features of the Nursing Home: Medical treatment, Catering, Residence, Entertainment
1) Medical treatment: a rehabilitation medical center
The rehabilitation medical center has a gross floor area of 5,000 square meters with an outpatient department, a rehabilitation treatment department and an inpatient department with 94 inpatient beds. The outpatient department provides services in various specialties such as internal medicine, surgical, traditional Chinese medicine, orthopedics, electrocardiography, ultrasound, digital radiography and pharmacy. It has an experienced clinical team from professional rehabilitation hospitals and general hospitals to provide 24-hour medical services.
The rehabilitation treatment center is built with several advanced therapeutic rooms for exercise therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, traditional Chinese medicine, massage therapy, fumigation and speech therapy, etc. It is also equipped with advanced and effective modern rehabilitation equipment to provide both modern and traditional habilitation treatment for the elderly.
2) Catering: nutritious meals
The nursing home adopts a five-star catering standard, and has a refined restaurant that can accommodate 400 people at the same time with a dining area of 400 square meters. The restaurant has three private rooms to meet the catering needs of the elderly and their families, providing healthy and nutritious meals in various kinds. The Nursing Home also formulates customized and personalized diet plans for the elderly according to their physical and nutritional conditions, chewing abilities, dining habits, etc., aiming to satisfy each elderly’s taste buds.
3) Residence: good air circulation and private balcony
The nursing home offers VIP single rooms, standard single rooms, double rooms and dormitories to meet the needs of different elders. All the rooms have great air convection and are built with separate washrooms and private balconies.
Passages in all areas are barrier-free and elder-friendly with no steps.
4) Entertainment: diverse activities
There are various activities organized by social workers or volunteers in the nursing home to help the elderly live a wonderful life, including birthday parties, chess and card games, audio-visual entertainment, calligraphy and painting, performances, piano-playing, bazaar, handicrafts, photography, travelling, tea-tasting, cooking, sports and carnivals.
